n churches acknowledged that there were vampires in the world. During the ne*t 300 years, people had being told each other that there was a kind of monster who drinks the human’s blood in order to keep alive. This is the vampire we are to discuss.
Vampire is a kind of very mysterious creature. They sleep in the daytime and act in the night. They drink the blood of human beings, especially that of the virgin’s. They are the children of devil. But many people love them, and they often appear in the film. Why are they so popular? And what are they?
In the east, people are all afraid of ghost. Ghosts don’t need to eat or drink. They are not alive, but they often attack the human beings. Then what are they? What are the differences between the ghost and the vampire?
This paper focuses on the similarities and dissimilarities of the vampire and ghost. After reading this paper, the problems mentioned above will be solved.
1.2 Origins of Vampire
As one of the legend goes, the vampire originated from the Holy Bible. Even though, there are still two origins from the Bible. One is that vampire originated from Lilith. Another is that vampire originated from Cain.
A. Lilith is a witch full of evil magical power. This is recorded in the Judaism Bible but not in the Western Bible. Because she taught Cain to use the fresh blood to make power for himself, many people believe that Lilith is the first vampire. The vampire drinks blood in order to make a living, just like making power from blood.
B. According to the Bible, Cain killed his younger brother and became the first murder in the human history. He was under a curse from God. Although he would not die and get older, he must bear the heavy punishment. The punishment is what the vampire must bear, too. For e*ample, they can’t be killed, or they will regain lives when they are killed. They wander around the world and seek for blood. They can’t do anything in the sun. Otherwise they will be burnt. Therefore, people consider Cain to be one of the origins of vampire.
In the 15th century, there was a Byzantine aristocrat named Vlad. He was made to be one of the origins of the vampire. An Irish novelist Bram Stoker modeled him the main character, which was a vampire, in his novel Dracula in 1897. Then the European noble became an origin of the vampire. In fact, Willard 4th who was a ducal military governor along the Danube River bank was an evil symbol in the Eastern Europe. He had a nickname "Dracula", which referred to the devil or the dragon. Willard once defeated the Turkeys invaders, had rescued his own country and the Christian world. After that he became the national hero of Romania. But at the same time, he was a tyrant. He had more than ten million persons stabbed to death with pickets just for fun.
Another origin is Hungarian female Lord Elizabeth White Sally. She bathed with the virgin’s blood in order to keep young and beautiful. She had killed over 400 virgins by 1614. Then she was said to be the queen of the vampire.
In the 15th century, a famous evil symbol appeared in the Western Europe. He was the comrade of Saint Janne Da Arc in the England and France war. He was Baron De Lies. After the war, he lived in seclusion in his own territory. Then he had been addicted to the alchemy, hoping to discover the mystery of the philosophers stone in the blood. These e*periments caused him losing control. He had killed about 300 children for the e*periment. Then he also became an origin of the vampire.
In the Medieval Europe, the vampire was the tool of spreading terries of churches. Everyone could be a vampire. The one who dismissed by Christianity, the felo-de-se, or the one who died in a sudden death, or the sorcerer, or the early dead baby, or the human who had not carried on the Christianity funeral, they all have the possibility to become vampires. If a baby had tooth in the mouth in his newly born, or there was fetal brain fever, or the one whose pupil’s color was e*tremely deep or e*tremely shallow, or the person who had reddish brown hair, or the one who had red spots on his body, as well as the one who was similar to Judas been betrayed Jesus, all the people been talked above mentioned would be considered vampire.
To the British people, vampire is an ……(未完,全文共30831字,當(dāng)前僅顯示5545字,請(qǐng)閱讀下面提示信息。
