前言
外語是專業(yè)技術(shù)人員學習國外先進知識和技術(shù),進行對外學術(shù)和技術(shù)交流的重要工具,也是專業(yè)技術(shù)人員能力建設(shè)的重要方面。為幫助廣大專業(yè)技術(shù)人員學習英語,熟悉全國職稱英語等級考試的方法,我們根據(jù)人力資源和社會保障部專業(yè)技術(shù)人員管理司審定的《全國專業(yè)技術(shù)人員職稱英語等級考試大綱》,組織編寫了2*12年版《全國職稱英語等級考試用書》。該書主要內(nèi)容包括全國職稱英語等級考試介紹、解題方法、按大綱題型編寫的學習材料及2011年度全國職稱英語等級考試試題的解析。為反映世界自然科學和社會科學的最新發(fā)展,我們對2011年版《職稱英語等級考試用書》的部分內(nèi)容進行了更新。
本書目錄中未加符號標注的文章難度相當于C級考試水平,供報考C級考試的應(yīng)試者閱讀;標有“*”的文章相當于B級考試水平;標有“+”的文章相當于A級考試水平。我們希望,報考B級的應(yīng)試者同時閱讀未加符號標注的文章,報考A級的應(yīng)試者同時閱讀標有“*”的文章。應(yīng)試者亦可根據(jù)自己的實際水平、興趣及學習時間學習相關(guān)文章。為便于學習,隨書贈送《全國專業(yè)技術(shù)人員職稱英語等級考試輔導光盤(CD一RCMy》一張。

全國職稱英語等級考試介紹及解題方法
一、全國職稱英語等級考試介紹
1.概述
全國專業(yè)技術(shù)人員職稱英語等級考試是由人力資源和社會保障部組織實施的一項外語考試,它根據(jù)英語在不同專業(yè)領(lǐng)域活動中的應(yīng)用特點,結(jié)合專業(yè)技術(shù)人員掌握和應(yīng)用英語的實際情況,對申報不同級別職稱的專業(yè)技術(shù)人員的英語水平提出了不同的要求。該考試根據(jù)專業(yè)技術(shù)人員使用英語的實際情況,把考試的重點放在了閱讀理解上面。
全國專業(yè)技術(shù)人員職稱英語等級考試共分三個專業(yè)類別:綜合類、理工類、衛(wèi)生類。每個專業(yè)類別的考試各分A,B,C三個等級。每個級別的試卷內(nèi)容,除綜合類外,普通英語和專業(yè)英語題目各占5a%n。三個等級考試的總分各為laa分,考試時間均為2小時。
2.全國職稱英語等級考試的要求
全國專業(yè)技術(shù)人員職稱英語等級考試重點考查應(yīng)試者的閱讀理解能力。考試總的評價目標是:申報A級的人員在兩小時內(nèi)應(yīng)完成3 OOa詞左右的閱讀任務(wù),并能正確理解所讀材料的內(nèi)容;申報B級的人員在兩小時內(nèi)應(yīng)完成2 s00詞左右的閱讀任務(wù),并能正確理解所讀材料的內(nèi)容;申報C級的人員在兩小時內(nèi)應(yīng)完成2 20a詞左右的閱讀任務(wù),并能正確理解所讀材料的內(nèi)容。
為達到上述目標,考試對應(yīng)試者的英語詞匯量、英語語法知識和閱讀理解能力的要求分別如下:
1.1詞匯量
考試所涉及的詞匯和短語主要依據(jù)本考試大綱所附詞匯表。對申報不同級別的應(yīng)試者要求掌握的詞匯量不等:.申報A級的人員應(yīng)認知s aoa個左右

句子的信息在短文中并未直接或間接提及,要求應(yīng)試者根據(jù)短文的內(nèi)容對每個句子做出判斷。一與傳統(tǒng)正誤判斷題的做法不同的是,該題型增加了一個選項,這樣就降低了猜測的因素,增加了題目的難度,提高了題目的區(qū)分度。上面講到,這種題型的考點是考查應(yīng)試者判斷識別文章所提供的信息的能力。但注意這里所指的“信息”,既有文章中明示的信息,也有藏在字里行間的信息,即隱含信息,因此,應(yīng)試者在做這部分題目時,需要仔細閱讀。請看下例:Once upon a tune there was a great Greek hero,Hercules. He was taller and stronger thananyone you have ever seen. On his shoulder he carried a club and in his hand he held a bow(弓).
He was known as the hero of a hundred adventures:Hercules served a king. The king was afraid of him: So again and again he sent him ondifficult tasks. One morning the king sent for him and told him-to fetch three golden apples for himfrom the garden of the Singing Maidens(歌女).But no one knew where the garden was.
So Hercules went away. He walked the whole day and the ne*t day and the ne*t. He walkedfor months before he saw mountains far in the distance one fine morning. ‘:概括大意與完成句子這兩種題型放到一篇文章中去考。這兩種題型均屬于閱讀理解簡答題(Short Answer Questions ),與傳統(tǒng)閱讀理解簡答題不同的是,它不需要應(yīng)試者寫出問題的答案,而是給出了幾個選項,讓應(yīng)試者從中選擇搭配。
概括大意題主要考查應(yīng)試者歸納段落主題思想的能力,完成句子主要考查應(yīng)試者掌握短文細節(jié)內(nèi)容的能力。這兩種題型,基本能夠考核各種閱讀技能。解答這類題目時,既要學會抓住文章的中心大意,找出關(guān)鍵詞,又要能夠運用多種閱讀技巧,從句子、語篇的層次把握文章的重要事實和細節(jié)。請看例題:The Price of IdlenessHousehold devices waste a lot of energy doing nothing

her colleague Wolfgang Huber found that two machines with similar features used 28 watts and 2watts respectively on stand-by. "For most products,we believe that stand-by power can be reducedto one watt or less.”says Sanchez.
5 She backs proposals to set up a national labeling system to promote machines that meet this
standard. Such a system could reduce stand-by power consumption in the US by 50 per cent, saysco-author Alan Meier一more than 20 terawatt hours lier year. Last month, electronics companyPhilips announced the launch of a device that can dramatically reduce the power used in stand-bymode.
